Looking for a rectangular inground trampoline? Sleek in your garden and stable in every jump

Looking for a trampoline that’s both modern in design and practical to use? Then a rectangular inground trampoline is an excellent choice. These trampolines are partially installed into the ground, sticking out only about 20 cm above the surface – perfect for a clean look, improved safety, and optimal bounce performance.

At Etan Trampolines, you’ll find a wide range of rectangular inground trampolines in various sizes and styles. Whether you’re after a small trampoline for a compact city garden or a big trampoline for sporty jumps, you’ll always find the right fit with us.

Why choose a rectangular inground trampoline?

A rectangular trampoline in the ground offers several advantages – not only in terms of safety and ease of use, but also when it comes to your garden’s appearance. Thanks to its rectangular shape, you can make the most of your available space and enjoy better control across the entire jumping surface.

Advantages of a rectangular inground trampoline:

  • Efficient use of space – no wasted corners like with round trampolines

  • Improved jump control – thanks to even spring tension across the entire surface

  • Lower entry height – safer for younger jumpers

  • Sleek integration into your garden design – less noticeable than a trampoline on legs

  • Less wind-sensitive – due to its low placement

Rectangular inground trampolines are perfect for both recreational jumpers and sporty users who want to work on technique, strength, or tricks.

Rectangular trampoline in the ground: with or without safety net

At Etan, you can choose whether to order your rectangular inground trampoline with or without a trampoline safety net:

Inground trampoline with net

For young children or enthusiastic jumpers, a safety net is a smart choice. It prevents jumpers from falling off the jumping surface – especially important for powerful or higher jumps.

Inground trampoline without net

Want a minimalist look in your garden, or is the trampoline mainly used by older kids or adults? Then you can also go for an inground trampoline without a safety net. The low fall height makes this model a safe alternative without needing a net.

Inground trampoline – install it yourself or have it dug in?

Installing a rectangular sunken trampoline is quite doable yourself with the right preparation. On average, it takes about half a day with two people. Prefer convenience? Then make use of the Etan trampoline dig-in service. Our installers will dig the pit precisely to the right depth and place the trampoline perfectly level.

We also offer a trampoline assembly service for above-ground trampolines – so you don’t have to do a thing and can start jumping carefree straight away.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an inground trampoline?

An inground trampoline is placed partly into the ground, so the frame sits low — about 20 cm above the surface. This makes it safer, easier to use, less sensitive to wind, and gives your garden a cleaner look. The low step also helps the air escape smoothly under the jumping mat while you’re bouncing.

What are the advantages of a rectangular trampoline?

A rectangular trampoline takes up relatively little space in the garden. Its shape fits perfectly in smaller gardens. The chance of bumping into someone while jumping is lower than on a round trampoline. Because the tension of the jumping mat is distributed along the length and width, not in a circle, you’re less likely to bounce straight to the center.

Note: It’s not allowed for multiple people to jump on the trampoline at the same time.

What are the benefits of an inground trampoline?

An inground trampoline is less visible than a regular trampoline on legs. One advantage of an inground trampoline compared to a flat-to-the-ground trampoline (fully sunken) is that kids can’t get onto it as easily with toys — and the same goes for a robot lawnmower. Digging in an inground trampoline is also a lot less work and costs much less than installing a completely sunken flat-to-the-ground model.

What is the best inground trampoline?

That really depends on who’s going to use it and how it will be used.

The best inground trampoline is one that’s still solid as a rock 10 years after installation — no rust on the springs or the frame, maybe just a new mat, pad or safety net along the way.

What types of inground trampolines are there?

We define 2 types of inground trampolines:

  1. Inground trampoline – the legs sit at ground level, with the trampoline sticking out about 20 cm.
  2. Flat-to-the-ground trampoline – the frame is completely flush with the ground.

Which rectangular trampoline is the best?

It depends on who’s using it and how. The best rectangular trampoline is one that still stands strong 10 years after it’s installed. No rust on the springs or frame, and maybe replaced over time with a new jumping mat, safety pad, or net.

Is an inground trampoline safer for children?

Yes. An inground trampoline is generally safer because the entry is low and the fall height is significantly reduced. Kids can get on and off more easily without the risk of tripping. It’s still essential to use a safety net, especially for younger children.

How high should a trampoline net be?

At least 180 cm measured from the jumping mat. This minimum height is legally required.

Is a trampoline net dangerous?

Nope! A trampoline net actually makes jumping safer, as long as the net and top rail are strong enough.

Is it a lot of work to dig in a trampoline?

Yes. Digging in a trampoline takes quite some work. An inground trampoline (20 cm above ground) is easier to install than a Flat-to-the-Ground trampoline. Most of the effort goes into digging the hole and backfilling the soil. Assembling the trampoline itself usually takes 1–2 hours, depending on the type, size, and whether a safety net is included.

What should you watch out for when installing an inground trampoline?

Check first if there are any pipes, cables, or other stuff underground that shouldn’t get damaged. Always follow the installation instructions in the manual. No physical manual? Grab the digital version or just contact your trampoline supplier.

Who can dig in my trampoline?

Some trampoline suppliers offer a trampoline dig-in service. Since they are often the supplier or even the manufacturer, they usually know the installation best – so they’re often your best bet. There are also plenty of gardeners who can handle the (digging) work for you.

Note: Installing a trampoline isn’t just digging a hole. Make sure you check how someone plans to install your trampoline. When in doubt, contact your trampoline supplier.

How much does it cost to dig in a trampoline?

Costs vary depending on the size of the trampoline and ground conditions. For a professional dig-in service, prices usually range from €700 to €1,800, including digging, placing the trampoline, and finishing the edges.

Do I need to anchor an inground trampoline?

No, that’s not necessary. Inground trampolines usually come with ground anchoring materials.
