Etan Premium trampoline jump mats – For optimal bounce and durability

Looking not only for a new trampoline jump mat but also a durable upgrade for your trampoline? Choose an Etan Premium jump mat, made with the patented Etan Diamond System. These high-quality trampoline mats provide controlled and powerful jumps, reduce wear on the trampoline springs, and extend your trampoline’s lifespan.

The unique Diamond System replaces traditional metal triangles with plastic ones featuring alternating large and small openings. This ensures that not all springs are engaged at once – one half activates first, then the other. This allows even young children or lighter jumpers to bounce smoothly and safely, with maximum control and comfort.

What is a trampoline jump mat and what is it made of?

A trampoline jump mat – also called a trampoline mat – is the part you actually jump on. Etan uses only high-quality Permatron material for its jump mats. This fabric is known for its strength, UV resistance, and lightweight properties. For the Etan OptiFlow trampoline jump mat, PVC is used, which creates an open structure allowing air to pass freely while jumping. This results in a tighter, more responsive bounce. The OptiFlow mat comes standard with our Etan UltraFlat and Etan PremiumFlat trampolines.

When should I replace my trampoline jump mat?

It’s important to regularly inspect your trampoline mat for signs of wear. A damaged mat can compromise safety. Look out for the following signs:

  • ✔️ Holes or tears: If your mat has three or more holes the size of a coin, replacement is necessary. A single small hole no larger than a two-euro coin can be repaired with our trampoline repair kit.
  • ✔️ Discoloration: Has your mat faded from deep black to dull grey? This indicates material aging of the Permatron.
  • ✔️ Loss of tension: Does the bounce feel weak or flat? The mat may have lost its elasticity, which also affects the springs.

Ready to replace your mat? Use a trampoline spring tool for easy installation!

Etan Xchange trampoline jump mat – Universal replacement option

Looking for a replacement mat for a trampoline that’s not an Etan? The Etan Xchange jump mats are an excellent choice. These mats are compatible with most trampoline brands and offer an affordable and durable replacement solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a trampoline mat universal?

Yes. Always check before ordering that the trampoline size and spring length match. If in doubt, get in touch.

What is the best trampoline jumping mat?

The best trampoline mat is safe, sturdy, and lets air through easily. But what should you actually look for?

1. What makes a trampoline mat safe?

A good mat has an overlay: an extra strip of Permatron over the springs. This reduces the chance of kids getting their hands, arms, or legs stuck between the springs.

2. Why is airflow important?

The better air can escape through the mat, the easier it is to bounce. A mat with a coarser mesh lets more air through, giving smoother jumps and less wind resistance.

3. What’s the difference in durability between mats?

The weak spots are usually:

The triangles: On many trampolines, these are metal parts that can rust or even break over time. Not great if you want to avoid surprise landings.

The mat material: Permatron is standard, but quality varies. It comes in different thicknesses and colors. The stronger the Permatron, the longer it lasts.

4. What are the best triangles for a trampoline mat?

Triangles that can’t rust or break. At Etan, we use HDPE triangles from the Etan Diamond System, which don’t corrode and give the best force distribution while jumping. Years of hassle-free fun!

5. What is the best trampoline mat?

The best mat is made from high-quality Permatron, has a safe overlay, is well-ventilated, and comes with durable, rust-free triangles like in the Etan Diamond System.

What’s the difference between OptiFlow and a standard trampoline mat?

A standard trampoline mat is made of tightly woven permatron – perfect for above-ground and inground trampolines. It’s strong but less breathable than an OptiFlow mat.

OptiFlow features:

  • Coarser weave, letting air escape freely
  • Faster response when jumping
  • Smoother landings with less “balloon effect”

In short: A standard mat is sturdy and fine for above-ground or inground trampolines. For a flat-to-the-ground trampoline or users seeking maximum jump performance, go with an OptiFlow mat.

How long does a trampoline mat last?

It depends on the mat material, usage intensity, use of a protective cover, and weather conditions. With normal use, a jumping mat usually lasts 5–7 years. For intensive use, replacement is often recommended after 3–5 years. With occasional use and consistent protection with a cover, a mat can last 10 years or more.

When should you replace your trampoline mat?

As soon as it’s worn out enough for holes to appear or the triangles start breaking. These are usually the two most common signs of wear and tear.

Can you repair a trampoline mat?

Yes. With a strong needle, sturdy thread, and a piece of trampoline mat (Permatron), you can fix a hole up to 2.5 cm. If the hole or tear is bigger than 2.5 cm, we advise against using the trampoline and suggest considering a new mat.

How do I repair my trampoline jumping mat?

Option 1: Ask a local cobbler to stitch your jumping mat.

Option 2: Repair it yourself using an Etan repair kit:

  1. Cut the piece of Permatron to size.
  2. Place the cut piece under the jumping mat.
  3. Sew the outer edges of the cut Permatron piece.
  4. Sew the inner part of the piece in a cross pattern.
  5. Have fun jumping!

Can I use the repair kit on any type of trampoline mat?

Yes. The repair kit is suitable for standard jumping mats, like those used on Etan trampolines and many other brands. Its effectiveness is not guaranteed on different materials.
