How should I dig in my PremiumFlat trampoline?

Digging in a trampoline, are you going to have it done or are you going to do it yourself? Digging in your trampoline is quite a job, but certainly not impossible. First, it’s important to determine whether you have an in-ground trampoline, an Etan PremiumFlat trampoline or an Etan UltraFlat trampoline (also called flatground trampoline). Do you have an Etan PremiumFlat trampoline? Then this page is the right place for the step-by-step plan on how to do it. Do you have an in-ground trampoline? No worries, click the button for the step-by-step plan.

Step 1

Step 1

Step 1

Determine the location

Determine the location

Determine the location

Since we’re talking about an in-ground trampoline here, it’s important to think well about the location where you’re going to place the trampoline. Because yes, you already guessed it, relocating the trampoline after digging it in is out of the question. For safety reasons, we advise you to keep at least 2 meters free around the trampoline and at least 3 meters above it. If you don’t have this space, we advise you to soften the area around the trampoline and remove any obstacles.

Have you determined the location? Then the next step is to measure and draw the hole. Use the following measurements for this. Do not make the hole too small or too large. This way you will maintain the solidity of the ground.

Step 2

Step 2

Step 2

Dig the base pit

Dig the base pit

Dig the base pit

Did you measure and draw the hole where you want the trampoline? Well done! Now dig a flat pit the size of the chosen trampoline. Please note! It is convenient to dig the hole a number of centimetres larger on all sides. This gives you some space when you need to place the wall construction. You can fill this in later on. It is also essential that this pit has walls that run straight down. The depth of this hole should be 25 cm in all places.

Then dig a half 15 x 30 cm paving stone into the wall in the places where the legs are to be placed. To do this, remove some soil from the wall. This paving stone serves to reinforce the trampoline frame and keeps the frame from moving. Is your basic pit now 25 cm deep everywhere? Great! Time for step 3!

Step 3

Dig the deepest point

Dig the deepest point

Now it is time for step 3; digging to the deepest point. This point must be exactly in the middle of the hole to be dug. Start digging here and try to dig outwards from that point. Attention: you only start digging down from at least 15 cm from the wall. See the table below for all the dimensions for your trampoline.

Step 4

Make a bowl-shaped hole

Make a bowl-shaped hole

Make a bowl-shaped hole

Did you dig the deepest point of the hole? Then the next step is to dig it out into a bowl shape. This is an essential step for ensuring that the wall construction retains its strength. However, the bowl must be deep enough in all places. An example to make this more clear:

Suppose you have an Etan PremiumFlat trampoline of 281 x 201 cm. It has a minimum depth of 90cm in the middle of the hole. You dig from that point to the outside. Make sure that you are at approximately 2/3 of the total depth at point B (as indicated in the illustration to the right). So for our example, at about 75cm deep.

Digging a hole is not difficult, but it is important that you always test whether you have dug to the right depth before letting the children jump on it. Do this by jumping up and down on all areas of the trampoline. Are you not touching the bottom? Are you confident that the hole is deep enough? If not, dig away a bit more sand. Your hole is now ready and you can place the trampoline in it. Your PremiumFlat trampoline is now in the hole, you can now place the wall construction and attach the trampoline safety pads. Follow the manual step by step. There are also top views available. Have fun jumping!
