Replace your trampoline jumping mat? Find the right mat at Etan Trampolines

Is your trampoline jumping mat worn out, torn, or less springy? At Etan Trampolines, you’ll find a complete range of jumping mats for both round and rectangular trampolines, suitable for all Etan series such as Etan Premium, Etan Sky-Flyer, Xchange, and UltraFlat. Use the convenient filter to quickly find the right size and specifications, or contact us for personal advice. Our spare parts buying guide helps you choose the correct jumping mat in just a few steps, so you can safely and comfortably start jumping again.

Etan Premium jumping mats – Durable, powerful, and safe

Choose an Etan Premium jumping mat for controlled jumps, maximum bounce, and a longer trampoline lifespan. The patented Diamond System distributes the load over the springs, allowing both children and adults to jump smoothly and safely. This maintains trampoline quality and prevents premature wear.

The Diamond System replaces traditional metal triangles with plastic triangles that have alternating large and small openings. This prevents all springs from being loaded simultaneously. The result: a smooth, controlled jump, less spring wear, and a longer-lasting trampoline. Perfect for families who use their trampoline frequently.

What is a trampoline jumping mat and what is it made of?

A trampoline jumping mat, also called a trampoline bed, is the surface you jump on. Etan uses high-quality Permatron, known for strength, UV resistance, and lightweight properties. Permatron remains flexible for longer and retains its quality even with intensive use and changing weather conditions.

Our Etan OptiFlow jumping mat is made of PVC with an open structure, allowing air to escape optimally while jumping. This provides a tighter, controlled bounce with minimal damping. The OptiFlow mat is included as standard with Etan UltraFlat and PremiumFlat trampolines, giving you the best jump experience from the start.

When should you replace the jumping mat?

Check your trampoline regularly. A worn or damaged jumping mat can compromise safety. Watch for the following signs:

  • Holes or tears: Three or more coin-sized holes? Replace the mat. Smaller holes can be easily repaired with our trampoline repair kit.
  • Discoloration: A dull or gray surface indicates material aging.
  • Weak bounce: Less springy jumping? The mat may have lost elasticity, which also affects the springs.

Ready to replace your jumping mat? With a trampoline spring tensioner, you can install the new mat quickly and safely without hassle.

Etan Xchange – Universal replacement mat for other trampolines

No Etan trampoline? Our Etan Xchange jumping mats also fit trampolines from other brands. They offer an affordable and durable solution for replacing a worn jumping mat without compromising on quality or safety.

Unsure which mat fits? Use the jumping mat buying guide to quickly find the right option for your trampoline.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a trampoline mat universal?

Yes. Always check before ordering that the trampoline size and spring length match. If in doubt, get in touch.

What is the best trampoline jumping mat?

The best trampoline mat is safe, sturdy, and lets air through easily. But what should you actually look for?

1. What makes a trampoline mat safe?

A good mat has an overlay: an extra strip of Permatron over the springs. This reduces the chance of kids getting their hands, arms, or legs stuck between the springs.

2. Why is airflow important?

The better air can escape through the mat, the easier it is to bounce. A mat with a coarser mesh lets more air through, giving smoother jumps and less wind resistance.

3. What’s the difference in durability between mats?

The weak spots are usually:

The triangles: On many trampolines, these are metal parts that can rust or even break over time. Not great if you want to avoid surprise landings.

The mat material: Permatron is standard, but quality varies. It comes in different thicknesses and colors. The stronger the Permatron, the longer it lasts.

4. What are the best triangles for a trampoline mat?

Triangles that can’t rust or break. At Etan, we use HDPE triangles from the Etan Diamond System, which don’t corrode and give the best force distribution while jumping. Years of hassle-free fun!

5. What is the best trampoline mat?

The best mat is made from high-quality Permatron, has a safe overlay, is well-ventilated, and comes with durable, rust-free triangles like in the Etan Diamond System.

What’s the difference between OptiFlow and a standard trampoline mat?

A standard trampoline mat is made of tightly woven permatron – perfect for above-ground and inground trampolines. It’s strong but less breathable than an OptiFlow mat.

OptiFlow features:

  • Coarser weave, letting air escape freely
  • Faster response when jumping
  • Smoother landings with less “balloon effect”

In short: A standard mat is sturdy and fine for above-ground or inground trampolines. For a flat-to-the-ground trampoline or users seeking maximum jump performance, go with an OptiFlow mat.

How long does a trampoline mat last?

It depends on the mat material, usage intensity, use of a protective cover, and weather conditions. With normal use, a jumping mat usually lasts 5–7 years. For intensive use, replacement is often recommended after 3–5 years. With occasional use and consistent protection with a cover, a mat can last 10 years or more.

When should you replace your trampoline mat?

As soon as it’s worn out enough for holes to appear or the triangles start breaking. These are usually the two most common signs of wear and tear.

Can you repair a trampoline mat?

Yes. With a strong needle, sturdy thread, and a piece of trampoline mat (Permatron), you can fix a hole up to 2.5 cm. If the hole or tear is bigger than 2.5 cm, we advise against using the trampoline and suggest considering a new mat.

How do I repair my trampoline jumping mat?

Option 1: Ask a local cobbler to stitch your jumping mat.

Option 2: Repair it yourself using an Etan repair kit:

  1. Cut the piece of Permatron to size.
  2. Place the cut piece under the jumping mat.
  3. Sew the outer edges of the cut Permatron piece.
  4. Sew the inner part of the piece in a cross pattern.
  5. Have fun jumping!

Can I use the repair kit on any type of trampoline mat?

Yes. The repair kit is suitable for standard jumping mats, like those used on Etan trampolines and many other brands. Its effectiveness is not guaranteed on different materials.
